It is in the future of Virtual Reality gaming in the home of everyday average consumers. Project Morpheus is Sony's answer to the Occulus Rift for the console.
Realizing full well that sony is the only console company concerned with what gamers want and not just trying to satisfy the status quo, you begin to see the bigger picture here. This is the real future of gaming.
“These days, we’re not doing much of the ‘you cannot do this’ kind of communication” with game developers, Yoshida said. “We used to do it a lot.” Sony was well-known during the PlayStation 3 era for having a heavy hand with game developers, rejecting games on concept alone, or requiring content to be added to them before they would allow them to be released.
Yoshida says that the process has been “much simplified” these days. “But,” he says, “you can make a VR game that makes everyone sick in 20 seconds. I think we need to reintroduce a bit more game design-side conversation with developers, if they bring in something we feel is dangerous.” - Wired Magazine.
"President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida also revealed a new prototype that will be closer to the final version than the one we've seen previously. This new prototype has an OLED display running at 1920 x RGB x 1080, which removes motion blur, and all pixels now have RGB sub-pixels.
Project Morpheus has a 120 hz refresh rate, double that of the previous version, and a low latency of less than 18 milliseconds. The new prototype has a 5.7 inch screen offering a 100 degree field of vision, and includes 9 tracking LEDS; 3 more than the previous version." IGN
Now is the opportunity to upgrade, rerelease and innovate on every game ever released as this is a whole new field people. Be ready when the storm hits in 2016!!!!
Be Well
